Yup, I'm in Korea, it's - 3C... freezing..walking out on the streets doesnt feel so good..

Journey here wasnt easy.. had 1 of the WORST flight.... imagine when taking off, your plane is 60degrees tilted upwards! kinda good for doing situps if u wanna reach for ur toes... Never experienced tat in SIA, not even CHina eastern nor budget airlines...

You though tat's bad... during the decend for landing... the plane literally dropped for 1-2secs.. u feel like you on a viking ride!! Wtf... Now i know SIA is probably the best Airline around.. Asiana flights... if u have the option.. don take.. But the good thing is, the air stewardess thrash SIA, both in terms of attitude & looks. Hands down thrashing. Lol.

Went to walk ard the "town" a little.. no shopping centres.. only rows of shops... bought nothing.. nothing caught my eyes.. Especially when 99% of the time i don noe wat the sales assistant is talking about... Suddenly felt helpless. it's like wen u walk in, they're damn happy to receive u, like you're the 1st & only customer, and they talk alot to u in korean.. But i can only smile, not knowing wtf he/she is talking.. For a moment they must have thought I'm mute/dumb. Most of them do not speak English, and i gave up trying to communicate in english.. In fact, the taxi driver took me to the wrong ferry terminal, another 1 wanted to take me to god knows where... It doesnt help when they only know Korean names of the place... Now i know how Ang mos feel when they're in china.~

Guess it's time to learn Korean!!! Ah-ni-ha sayo~ & Kam-sa-mida are probably the only 2 Korean words i know. Lol. Good for a start i guess. =)

Work has been slowing down this month.. Last Month was super busy, time flies by damn quickly.. this month is slow.... i feel weird not having much to do.. Have to search old emails, follow up, find new contacts etc.

I don noe how some people can tahan sit there do nothing whole day & not feeling guilty.

Hmmm, wonder if the slowdown is due to the bad economy?? Haven realli feel the full effects, but i guess soon to hit my company... oil prices coming down... banks have no money to loan to operators/investors, no money to build more rigs or buy more equipment = company not performing to expectations = no bonus(not like its alot in the 1st place!) = jobless>!?!?!? hmmm..

Anyway, 5 more days!!!!!!!! Only 5 more days i'll be jetting offf!! wootz! far far away in the south china sea ah! Lol. Holiday mood loh!!! =)

Everyone has his/her fair share of 'first time'-s, be it good or bad.. First time hold hands, 1st time strike TOTO, 1st time step on dog shit etc... I had mine yday... First Time involved in Accident~.... Nehneh...

Was travelling along PIE back hm, road condition was turning from smooth to heavy traffic quite suddenly, cars in front brake abruptly. Thankfully i got skill (i'm sure), managed to brake in time..Almost hit the car man.... but 1 second later... Poom! some bugger hit my bum~.... impact wasnt tat great i would say... Before i got time to react... Poom!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2nd car hit the car behind me..... The crash was loud!! I bet that car muz be going DAMN fast.. basket...

Went down to resolve the shit... Saw my car bump dented, car boot cant even close now... chui~.. turn round to see the 2nd car... BASKET!!!! Her car (yes, it's a lady driver) got no damage!!! except maybe a small crack on her License plate... BASKET!! Mazda 3 hit Altis, Altis chui, Mazda no damge.... WTF!!! For those that owns a Mazda~, u made the rite choice dude!!!

Sadz.. Can no longer go running or jogging... Knee hurts damn badly... Went jogging at east coast park yesterday, was admiring the scenery & tranquility of that place. Of cos, im not running at the Macdonald's portion. Ran at the National Sailing Centre portion.. Beautiful~ Peaceful~ Good place to relax, let the sea breeze carry away your worries & unhappiness~ It's just awesome

Anyway, din ran for long, knee hurts like crazy... Guess the army half marathon, the long distance running, the weekly soccer & badminton sessions kinda overstrain my knees. Need to stop running liao.. Sadz... Asking me not to exercise is like asking smokers to not to smoke~... haiz.. Can only hope for speedy recovery~

Went to 'conquer' the 9km southern ridges with Merlot one fine sunday morning. 50% attendance, out of 8, only 4 strong contenders! The rest were fighting a losing battle with the ZZzzz Monsters~

I wonder why all my frds are getting married! There're 5 weddings Within 4 months!!! I'm not even that old (am i?) where all my frds are starting to settle down... I'm barely 18!!! Lol.

Finally, i'm home~. I used to envy people who go on business trips, can travel to see the world, explore etc... But those that went often say, no time to explore, boring, nothing fascinating etc.. Now i totally understand... In Houston, initially i had free time to explore, but when i drove all the way to the shopping centre, i juz barely walk ard, not even entering the stores, den i left.. Maybe it's the feeling of being alone.. even though the place could be damn nice, you feel like taking pics, but the pic will not have you, even if have... you're still alone... No one to share your joy..

It doesnt help when you've got to prepare for meetings, trainings etc, and when you have free time, you juz wan to lie on the comfy bed, watch movies, laze ard... so.. biz trips are not tat fascinating, unless you've companion & time to explore tgt..

Anyway, enff of complaints... time for pics!!

Met up with Stella, a colleague who used to be from Hong Kong, & my room mate Dany

It's so fortunate/unfortunate tat when i told him i'll be going back to houston, he mentioned he'll be there as well! We drove past a couple of places which we visited when we were there last year.. It's been 1 yr!! damn fast! Ok i know, sounds a bit gay, but den, it's good to reminicise the good old days.. =)

See, dany nv fails to amaze me. Within few days in Houston, managed to get a 'girlfrd'. Respectz

Wanted to meet with the rest of the Next gens,but due to hurricane.. nv got a chance..

Anyway, here's the Hilton hotel which i stayed for 2 nites, den kana chased out.. Quite gd, with super cold Air Con.. realli super cold.. shiok! i can juz laze under the comforter all day loh, & i realli did tat. =) Forgot to mention they provide mouthwash as well! I don noe why all hotels in US doesnt provide toothbrush & paste.. wtf.. pple in US don brush??

Haha. I can only take these kind of pics... cos i'm alone!! sianz.. don even feel like taking pics when im there. (thats quite unusual) lol.

The 3rd hotel i moved to... Marriott Courtyard.. not very nice though...summore internet is wired, i cant laze in my bed & do work... sianz..

Btw, i spend alot of my computer times downloading movies in US.. lol. damn fast, got alot of movies to watch, that helps me to tide thru the hurricane wkend.. =)

Stayed in Metterra Hotel in Edmonton. It's directly on the party street in edmonton.. but... nothing much... juz a stretch of pubs.. thats all... I went into 1 of the pubs name FUnky Buddha, what a name.. It's a Salsa club where pple were dancing Salsa! so cool! i wanna learn!!

I was quite lucky. Edmonton is known for their below freezing point temperature. In Jan, it can be as cold as -48C. yes... -48Celsius! Crazy man. If you wet your hair & walk out, ur hair would freeze! lol sounds fun. Thankfully, the temp now is about 10-25C.. juz nice for me. =)

Went to visit West Edmonton mall, supposedly the biggest mal in the world, with water theme park, aquarium, ice skating rink, shooting range, casino etc.. plenty of shopping!

Thanks for those who are concern, I'm safe & sound in Houston, survived the Hurricane, but the aftermath is even more frightening than the Hurricane itself.....

Thursday (11 Sep)
Houston City Mayor issued a Mandatory Evacuation Order for residents living in the coastal area. 15 feet of storm surge predicted, 115 mph (miles per hr) wind, definitely enough to deal a life threatening blow to the region.

Work in office only lasted half a day so that the affected people have enough time to pack & evacuate their homes.

Friday (12 Sep)
Hurricane Ike predicted to hit Houston City at Sat morning 3am. City advised to stock up food, water ,necessities, maintain full gas tanks in cars.

Hotel staffs at Marriott assured patrons things will be fine, they have backup power generator, sufficient food & water to tide us through. " Fill your bathtubs with water, JUST IN CASE the water pumps are damaged, you can still have water." I did try... but guess what, water just drained off despite me putting that stopper.

"For the past two storms, our hotel are not affected at all, so you do not have to worry." That comforted the patrons (including me)

Sat (13 Sep)
Stayed till 2am, 'anxiously' awaiting for the storm to arrive. But everything seems normal, occasional strong gusts of winds accompanied with rain.. Went to bed..heard some noises from zinc plates or metal objects, didnt bother & continued sleeping...

6am.. Realised power is cut becos i left my toilet light on while sleeping, but my room is pitch dark.. Switched on the lights + TV, nothin happens..But corridor lights still on... Nevertheless, went back to slp..

10am.. Rise and shine. Still no power.. went to wash up.."holy shit!" No water from taps! Thankfully i bought a gallon of water for use.. Went down to check it out.. Hotel staffs just confirmed that they lost power & water.. & that also means NO Air Con... Went around to check the damage...

This is Ibrahim, a Sales Mgr in Dubai Office, went the storm with him. We were walking down the emergency exit since the Hotel elevators were down.. 9 storeys...

Realised that the ceiling of the hotel ballrom collapsed! Whole ballroom level was flooded, ankle level water depth.. The inital plan was to evacuate people into the ballroom in case storm was bad & shatter room windows.. Imagine how many would be killed if we were all gathered in the ball room..

The top level rooms are wet as well, as water seeps through the ceiling & soaked the floor... Imagine without Air Con, wet floor... that sure stinks...

You thought the worst is over??? Nah... it just got started....

Drove around to find a foodmart to buy water & food.. None! drove all the way close to downtown, finally came across the mart at petrol station.. thank god.. Many were driving ard for a long time & were happy to finally found this.

Marriott hotel serving crappy food, ham & toast for dinner. Decided to drive all the way down to a restaurant that we came across in our aftnn recce. Apparently, it seems it's the only restaurant opened in the city!It still has power & water! But guess wat... it's FLOODED, not with water, but people!!!

Queue goes TWO ROUNDS in the restaurant..

Reach 645pm, ordered food at 830, started eating at 9pm!! Almost 3 hrs!!! faint.. But it's worth the wait.. good food with chocolate cake as dessert! Should be thankful we could find someplace to eat!!

Went back to hotel, still withou AC, Power & water! room is damn hot & pitch dark! Decided not to take the shit, went ard hunting for vacancies in other hotels. And guess wat, we still pay the same rates even though the hotel has no power & water... Went on waiting list in Hilton hotel & Bingo!!! Got a room at 12am!!! With power, AC & water!!! Woots. Super cold AC they got there!

Sun (14 Sep)

2nd day where most part of the city don have water & power.... Stayed in hotel all day to catch up on slp (long saturday dealing with the shit). Super marts are starting to open, people queuing for hrs juz to get water & food.. it's crazy... Went back to marriott to take a look, STILL no power & water, i wonder how the guests survived..

Went to search for dinner again..... hard time finding one, but eventually did. All the streets were dark.. pitch dark, except for car headlights. It's like resident evil, you're the only car driving on the empty,destructed streets; waiting for zombies & hounds to pounce on you...

Mon (15 Sep)

Just when i thought i'm in good hands...Hilton hotel drop me another shit.. say i'm due to check out TODAY! Wtf.. i told them i'm booked till tomorrow, but they said they're know they're full on monday even before i was given the room on Sat... WTF.. the reception guy screw me up big time... Gotta go in search for another hotel with power & water... Apparrently, alot of hotels are fully booked as alot of people have their home wrecked by the Hurricane & staying put in hotels...

Finally found a hotel to stay in.. Marriott courtyard.. Cant believe i have to stay in 3 hotels in 1 week!! wtf... Guess that's real bad luck, but looking at the bright side, i'm still safe & sound, roughing it out... & STILL, Marriott hotel is without power & water.. Lucky i made the right decision to move out instead of waiting for the power to come on....

TV news kept 24hrs live coverage on the Hurricane Ike, apparently, more than 50% of Houston is without power, 80% without water... Homes in Galveston were TOTALLY wrecked.. all that's left were wood, debris on the shores... Unbelievable.. Even in the city, roofs & ceilings were torn apart... Crazy shit man... People queueing up for food & water, living in darkness...

This left me wondering... why did Houston get such a huge damage??

1. Traffic lights were hung on cables.. power cables left exposed, dangling on poles...

-Obviously that made power vulnerable! any falling trees would have cut the cable & disconnect power!! Why don't they just install them undergrd??!?! Invest abit of money dude!

2. Houses are not made of solid concrete. Mostly wood, some with steel foundation but sealed with wire mesh & clay(or some weak stuffs) that LOOKED like concrete.. When you knock on it, you will feel it's hollow & vulnerable..

- Why use this?!?!?!? Even in lebanon, Dubai, Singapore & CHINA, we ALL use solid concrete. Why would you use wood & some weak materials!?!?! It's not like you don't know your country would experience hurricanes & tornadoes. Some people explained they did this because insurance would cover reconstruction.. & Reconstruction creates jobs, if destroyed, they just build again.. & again & again... what a way to boost employment rate huh... nice..... (not my theory though)

Nevertheless, it can be a good lesson for me... pampered Singaporeans like me never knew what's a natural disaster.. what is it like without power & water.. Never seen flooded roads, torn roofs, shattered cars... At least i realised how fortunate it is back home... Oh ,& thankfully i've Ibrahim as companion to tide over this shit.. =)

Hurricane Ike

It's official. Government has issued a Mandatory Evacuation Order for those living in the coastal area. Seems bad.. Thankfully im slightly above the coastal area, so no need for evacuation. But the high wind from the storm might do some damage... THings are getting heated up. Alot of people rushing to get food & water & plywood to cover houses. Gas stations are crowded, by evening time, a number of gas stations are already empty.. It seems just like in the movies...

As for me, i'm doing nothing, hiding in hotel. Was told by 1 of the staffs that for Katrina & other storms, guests had been hiding in hotel, everything was normal & nothing affected.. I hope that will be the way.... training today was cancelled as they let people to go home, get evacuated etc... Friday will not be working since Hurricane will be here.. Seems exciting...

But the worse thing is... my plans for this weekend failed!!!! flights cancelled... My poor ju~ =(

Yes, i had a stop over in Moscow Russia! Sounds exciting huh. At least it's something new, not LA, not Japan or Taiwan. =) Something Weird abt the airport is that they're allowed to smoke in airport. They have booth/stations that look like telephone booths or internet stations along the airport, but they're for smoking, with ash trays... faint.

The next thing i learn about Russia, a whole lot of them don speak english. Most of the announcements are in Russian, i've no clue what they were talking. When i took a pic of the duty free shop, a woman in uniform came and spoke to me in Russian, then walk away. Totally no idea wtf she was trying to tell me. Sounds like "you're really handsome!" or maybe "you look cool while phototaking, are you professional?" Or perhaps, "no photo taking pls.." I choose to believe the first two. =)

Final Destination~

The plane ride was tiring.... 10hrs straight to Moscow, with not much interesting movies on board.. Or maybe it's becos i've downloaded & watched most of their interesting movies. Lol. Seats were small & cramp, i don know why everyone says SIA has comfortable seats... am i expecting too much??

From Moscow to Houston was good! nobody sitting beside me, all 3 seats to myself... i lie down completely over the 3 seats, AWESOME! better den first class!!! Maybe it's too comfortable, thats why i slpt TOO MUCH!!! Painful consequence later on...

Despite a comfy room, i had serious jetlag!!! faint. Sat slpt from 10-2am, den i couldnt slp! toss & turn till 5am den fell aslp till 12pm. Sunday was BBBAADDDD! 12-1am slping, THAT'S ALL!! Toss & turn till 7am den head down to office! faint. Now it's getting better.

Went to visit different facilities in Houston, nice & big. Training was slow on the 1st day but 2nd day was informative.. =) Last day of training tomorrow. =)

Looking forward to Friday!!! OH... but Houston is gonna experience a hurricane!!! faint.. category 3! Hopefully it's not gonna be bad.. Heard the coast area are already evacuating!!!

Maybe as Singaporeans, we are not exposed to natural disasters, so we don noe how sever it is. so i wasnt exactly scared or worried... hmmm... we'll see how it turns out. =)

Visited a few customers in Loyang (Pasiris) side, drove across the entire Singapore island to get there...the best part.. u have to drive back. faint. After the visit, decided to head home, was quite shag till i made a wrong turn... should go PIE Tuas, but i went PIE Changi.. how smart...

2 choices

1) Curse & swear, bang the steering wheel, after tat LL, make U-turn

Or

2) Make the best out of it

Usually i always choose 1(i've made too many wrg turns!) Somehow i chose 2... Guess where it leads me to???

Not too bad~ chicken was OK~ maybe bcos they gave me breast meat, which is dry & hard.. Still prefer KFC though~ =) But i least, i fulfilled my wish to eat Popeye~.

Moral of story as stated in the title of this post.. when u made a wrg turn, it doesnt necessarily means it's bad... it's just wat you make out of it. Just like life... when u made the wrg choice...joined the wrg company, you can always sulk, complain, quit, Or you can just make the best of out it, learn everything, gain experience & move on... It's totally up to YOU~ Attitude determines Altitude!!

Here's my Evolution!(some say for the better, some say .... nevermind~)

I don know why but i can still remember this exact moment where in my mind, i'm cursing my bro for disturbin me with the keys! (I know the 4 letter words back then? maybe i did) But how i can remember since i was sooo Young. I prob don even know how to think.

some say i've flabby cheeks, some say i've droopy cheeks! faint. But actually, i'm eating hamburger!

Again, this moment is still so fresh in my mind. I'm crying out "Mum, it's raining!"

I never had any impression that i was into Hello Kitty & Pink shorts!!! I must be forced to wear it! wtf!

Woke up at 4am for the 21km Army Half Marathon~. Never train for this run, i knew definitely damn chui, ma jiam suicide. ahaha. End up it wasnt tat bad.. Looks like i still have some of my runner's ability from the past. Hahaha. Really enjoyed the run (becos i walked SOOOO much!), shall start training for the Marathon!!! Any takers???

Was so afraid that it'll rain.....

Nevertheless, we go ahead and started playing ice-breaking games as usual. The best part is, there's only 13 participants and all of them know each other. Lol. That's where the fun begins, playing games, losers paste scotch tape over face! Lol

We trekked all the way to our campsite & conducted briefing.. Rules & expectations were told, & it's starting to get to them that this might not be the usual fun & exciting camp by Mumbo~.

Do you really know what you want?? Are you one that carve out a path in the dense vegetation? Or are you one that follow the paths of others, hoping to find what you're looking for eventually??

Have you really thought of what you wanna be? How long would you be in your first job? I've seen many of my frds switched jobs, i've seen many who are still in their 1st jobs.. But how many really found your 1st job to be what you think you like?? A lot of qns in my head now...

It's gonna be tonight or tomorrow... the D-day that decides my future direction.. the day that determines whether i will be doing something i THINK i like, vs something they want me to do. it's been a long time since i experience the interview feeling, yet it seems so familiar.. Lol

I guess i'm lucky to have choices... some don't even have any choice.. but having choices does mean that u'll have to think hard & make a decision between them.. Having choices mean you might regret making the wrong choice, blame yourself & start imagining what if you've taken the other route..Having choices would mean you might be complacent, start being picky & be spoilt for choices..

On the other hand, having no choice will mean you will not look back, you won regret, cos you've got nothing to choose from in the 1st place..Only then, you'll make the best out of this...

So.... Is it really good to have choices???

Prelude of Survival Camp @ Ubin

It's been a looooonnnnggggg time since i last visit ubin. During my secondary school days, i used to camp in Ubin almost every year, until i went university. We always camp at the quarry north of the Thai temple~. Pitch tents, collect firewood, cook a decent meal, sit by the fire and lie under the stars. In middle of the nite, trek to the thai temple despite the hordes of wild dogs barking at us, just to grab a can of ice cold COKE~Shhhioook!! But those were the good old days...

Finally, i'm back to ubin for camping! Just that this time we have agenda to adhere to...

The best part is, we don't have to pay for the cruise as there's a fund raising event in Ubin! The boatmen/captain refuse to accept money, saying its for charity for the Earthquake in China, & suggest us to donate the money to victims. They have a donation booth in Ubin! Any greedy men would have keep the money & smile cunningly. Given the kind nature of us, we donated the money for the victims~. God bless us! nono, i mean god bless them. =)

Surprised to find there's Getai in ubin!!

The Gao Siao Xing Dong ah Nan is there as host, damn funny. Din know ubin also so HIP! & it's already 1030pm!! Ah Nan says in Hokkien, "don worry about being too loud although its 1030pm, we're in ubin! ask the police come catch us loh!" Lol

Reached our campsite & started preparations immediately.. Went recce for Nite walk.. Super dark...even campsite is unlit... cant see beyond 50cm... 1 hour nite walk... faint... Details shall be kept secret.. shhhhhh.... Highlight of the nite, Bridge!! Lol.. it's amazing how pple make stupid mistakes & be paranoid in Bridge!

For the past decades, i haven been having breakfast with them...Busy, lazy, lum nua, sply, whatever you named it....Time to relive those days. Previous 2 weeks was spent eatin Dim Sum.. This week I drove all the way to Tiong Bahru market! =)

Everyone's Favourite word - I'm Busy!

Came across an article, quite meaningful & sets me thinking...I believe most of us are guilty of it... Especially now that we are all working...

1. Have you ever told your colleagues "I'm busy", when they were happily telling you about what they did the other day?

2. Have you ever gave your parents a frustrated look and says "I'm Busy!" when they were talking to you, asking you to sit with them for dinner?

3. Have you ever told your best frd "I'm Busy" when they tried to ask you out for a dinner?

4. Have you ever think "I'm busy, will reply/ans later" when your significant other msg you or call you?

The words "I'm busy" are the rudest words in English dictionary, not taking into consideration vulgarities. These words imply that you are capable of utilising your time, but the time is reserved for what you perceived as more important than the person you are speaking to....

Now, sit down & reconsider. Is working through the emails more important than your mum telling you how she almost fell & hurt herself? Is watching your favourite 9pm TV show more important than lending your listening ear to a close frd who just broke up? Is playing game/reading magazine more important than replying a short SMS from your significant other??

Some of the answers might be yes, but, all it takes is 2-3minutes to put down what you are doing & listen.. Is that really a long time? are you really so busy that you cant stop for 2-3 minutes? Or is your 2-3 minutes worth $1000?

Just watched Xiao Hai Bu Ben 2 (I not stupid 2), the kid saved up a few hundred bucks just to buy 2hrs of his dad time, cos his dad always says "i'm busy, my time is worth few hundred bucks" whenever he needs him...Do you have to go thru this same situation to make yourself realise what you've been doing isn't exactly right?

I'll be the first to admit that i'm guilty of pt 2 until i'm in university. Whenever my mum ask me to help her reach for the top shelf to get something, I'll yell "I'm busy!", but what i am doing is just lying down watching TV... When my mum came back from work & ask me to join her for dinner, I'll say "I'm busy! I'll eat later!" while playing game....

At that moment, i just tot that's the most exciting part of the show, helping my mum can wait, or she can grab a chair & do it herself. But what if she falls from the chair? Her brittle bones are certainly not going to withstand the impact of the fall. All it takes is just 30 secs of my time.....

Back from a hard day of work, all she wants is just my company, to have dinner with her...after all the hardwork of raising me up, putting me to university, all she gets is "I'm Busy!!" in return for her 'investments'....

I'm not asking everyone to run home, hug your mum, cry & apologise, nor start accepting every appointments your frd invites you, accept every task given or listen to all conversations even though it's n0t meant for you.

Whenever anyone come to you for something, if you can stop & think twice before using the favourite words "I'm Busy!", this article would have achieved it's purpose. It's never too late to realise your mistakes.. You have the remaining 60 years to change it.

On a similar note, read a post from my frd's blog, which can be quite true. She mentioned, many girlfrds are complaining their men have a tendency not to reply SMSes, or reply hours & hours later...Men would think it's not even an issue, 'at least i replied, though it's hours late' But in fact, we got everything to worry for...if your gf can really take you not replying her text messages or not return her missed calls, then maybe she doesnt love you enff? or you don have a place in her heart.

When you reply to her SMS hours & hours later, she would have probably forgotten wat she SMS ya abt. Her analogy--> "We (gals) don’t mind other men taking ages to reply to the message, but we can’t take it that you reply us hours and hours later. remember that to us, you mean a lot and nothing pleases us more than to have you think about us in the middle of the day, because most likely we’ll be thinking about you too. you might be surprised that a mere pleasantry can work very well and to your advantage also"

Can any gal verify this?? If it's true... all the guys who are reading this better start worrying. Lol

Of cos, this 'theory' might apply to guys as well! So gals, you better watch out. =P

Been Missing In Action for sooooo long... Lol. Too lazy to blog. A couple of events that i should have blogged, like New Year Eve celebration etc, as usual, lazy... Just visit my facebook to see NYE fotos.

Anyway.... 2 of my closer friends finally decided to tie the knot after 8 years of relationship....another 2 frd also decided to get married. The best part is, the Bride of couple A is sister of the Groom in couple B. Lol. 2 Marriage in 1 family.. Woooo..

Decided to hold a surprise pre-marriage chalet for them. Since it's in January, I was 'used' as the 'decoy'.... telling them the chalet was for my Bday celebration~. Si mi sai...

Was really happy for them....Known them since 1998 when i 1st joined mumbo... witnessed how Sean & shan start off by irritating each other, to getting together into a relationship... Thru the 8 yrs of r/s, they had their fair share of quarrels & fights, & finally, they felt they're ready for the next phase of life...

23rd Jan, Wed, the day where Sean & Shan decided to pen down their commitment to each other... You would have tot it'll be something like This...

The highlight of the LA trip, SKIING!!!!!!!!!!!!! wootz!!! Skiing on Christmas day itself, woooooooo.... White christmas!! So excited! my 1st time seeing real Snow, 1st time skiing too! yayaya... mountain turtle or whatever you wana call me. =)

We hit the roads at 6am, its a long 3 hrs drive.. sianz... its freezing cold loh!Brrrghhhhh..

my 1st steps on snow~ Wooohoo!! Yandao rite~! lol so exciting. The 2 of them went to try snowboarding, me & diana skiing. With my amazing sporting talent, im i can master skiing in few hrs, den i proceed to snowboard. lol.

We took ski lesson for beginners.. 3 hrs i think, honestly.. quite useless... so don bother to take it if you guys have a chance. spent most of the 3 hrs waiting for pple to try den finally my turn, den i complete in just 10 secs cos i'm juz so talented.. haiz~Lugi~

Take a break! woohoo, lesson ended, time for us to FLY~

Demonstrating how to get up when you fall. Lol. i always believe, don be afraid to fall, or u'll never learn. this applies to cycling, blading, iceskating etc..No pain no gain. lol.

Richard lied to us & brought us to the SUMMIT!!!! ALL THE WAY UP!!! bear in mind we were beginners with just 3 hours of ski lesson while hes already an average snowboarder.. He told us it was juz 100m & pointed to a spot at the high hills where we could see. It seems scary but i convinced diana to try. Later did we realise.. it's 5-6 times HIGHER & LONGER den wat he told us.. it was the SUMMIT! faint.. the chairlift itself took at least 10-15mins!! I almost fainted, diana literally died. lol. I forgot to mention before this, we saw the paramedics bringing down the casualties,at least 4 times, with blankets covered OVER them on a snow ski...Don ask me what happened,might be hypothemia, might be............. U can make a guess.. It certainly doesnt help to make us feel comfortable... all i can think is... HONG GAN LIAO!!

But diana....couldnt get her to move down man.... was practically walking. no, slower den walking, but i don blame her.. its realli dangerous, without knowing the exact technique to slow down. U could just fly off the mountains & be 1 of those being on the snowski....

This is taken wen we finally came down from the summit. gotta admit its realli tuff in certain parts, damn steep & the snow is too hard, ma jiam ice, cant cut snow to slow.. u can practically see mi fly & fall. lol. even gotta leopard crawl up the slope to retrieve my fallen skis. lol.

Was a realli gd experience despite everything. Lol. White xmas!! woohooo!!! =) I wanna go back there again!! Wootz!

But we're not supposed to buy the gifts. it had to be something we used & don wan it anymore. its supposed to be funny. lol. so we draw lots to see whu the suay jiao was.. Guess wat, i picked my BIG boss.. whole dept oni me & him are guys, den i kana him. summore my BIG boss(vice president). faint.. Guess wat i gave him???

My direct mgr stacey, supposed to be in charge of me. But she's away for maternity leave. Just had a baby in November 20+. Came back to eat with us. a very nice person too! she got handmade soap.

Teresa, assistant to my BIG boss. basically shes in charge of everything. a very very nice, motherly figure. i love her! got some bags as gift. she would always walk past me & ask how am i doing.. so sweet..

Katherine, a part time/intern in our dept. she's been living in SG for 3 yrs b4 she moved back to houston.. woohoo. she got some rockstar doll figure.

As for me, i got a book full of puzzles from kat. faint. lol. i think apparently, the present i gave is the most useless 1. bwhahaha. too bad! lol.

My last 3 days in houston.. gonna leave these nice pple... quite sad.. will miss my free food, big apartment, my pontiac G6 + chevy Malibu, free gas, holdin drinkin parties in my apartment, shopping, hanging out with other next gens & the cheap beer during happy hours.. sobz..

Just came back from movies with my program mgr + 4 other international next gens. Apparently, we are the 1st international Next Gens tat set foot in US.. woooo...we made history.. It's really amazing how different pple from differing cultures from different parts of the world come together, live together & hang out tgt...Lebanon, Singapore, Norway, Canada, Portugal + USA... how we go on roadtrips tgt, go New york & cancun, go shopping, movies, party.... It's juz gonna come to an end in the nxt 3 days.. all going different parts of the world.. Will we meet again? will our paths cross each other? I hope we will. Promised to visit each other wen possible. It's easier for them, cos norway, portugal, US & lebanon not too far away.. but SG is in another part of world.. gotta save up alot to visit them. But at least i know IF i ever go to these countries, i have pple to show me ard.. I will miss u guys~..

on a brighter note, been shopping quite alot lately.. have not been checking my credit card bill.. shall not look at it.. i noe it'll be crazi.. but heck.. not like i'll be coming back to US anitime soon.. Bought a Fossil watch! Love it!

It's automatic! meaning doesnt run on battery. Depends on movement mechanism to run the watch. so wen u wear it, ur movements will run the watch. Wats special is that tis has a backup battery, so that wen u're not wearing, it still runs. & apparently, if u wear it, the movements will charge the battery.. wooo.... supposedly though...u nv noe if it works.. lol.

Shall do more shopping... mayb i shld throw away my old jeans & buy levis.. hmm..

Last week in houston. Will be leaving for LA on 22nd, Sat.. Pretty much explored most interesting parts of houston alredy. Got bored liao.. don noe what to do man.. Been going shopping around for some time....

Shopping is referred to as Retail Therapy, cos it's supposed to help u feel better...Tell me about it... If u think this is all, keep thinking that way..& if u think its all mine... i certainly wished. Looks like Santas is coming to town~

Anyway, went to Skybar, a bar on a rooftop. Supposed to be like Top of the M, or "Jiu Chong Tian" bar in Shanghai, though its only 10 storey high. Lol.. Houston doesnt have much high buildings with the exception of office buildings..

Nothing much going on for the past weekend. Stay at home nua while they went to party. Feels good to finally relax & rest at home, go to park, jog, do housechores.. My 2nd last wkend in Houston.. Leaving on 22nd to LA~. These 2 weeks will be spent meetin up with pple for farewell lunches & dinner, & i'm sure there's bound to be farewell parties too...

anyway.. got myself a new toy~

Fossil Sunglass. Not too ex, but not super cheap too. Gd buy i guess.

Went shopping for the past 3 days.. shiok. Looking ard to by a watch too. Saw a Fossil watch, super nice, but 125usd... heartpain....cant bear to buy it... shall look for alternative..

Lastly, i'm looking fwd to Los Angeles! Stayin in hostel ALONG the Venice beach~! Can walk to santa monica! wootz! too bad its winter, no bikini babes, no suntanning, & not to mention swimming.. 24th dec will be Disneyland~ 25th will be the highlight.. SKIING!!! woohoo!!! so excited abt tat!!! cant wait!! i wanna throw snowballs. lol wootz!! 26th will be flying back to SG~ To those who missed me, i'll be back soon! bwahahah! there'll be outings & outings & outings wen im back! make urself free!! Woohoo, I'm back from the much anticipated trip! Reached Cancun at Friday 4pm, but gotta leave at sunday 9am flight. Sobz.. effectively oni 1.5 days in Cancun.. But it's good enff!!Wootz!

Pool during the day.. Hang out place for every1, there's swim-up bars where u can grab a drink. Forgot to mention this holiday package is ALL-Inclusive, which means food & drinks are all included. So there's free flow of alcohol, drinks & food!! zhuan!

Since the sun is down at 530pm, there's nothin much we can do.. so Jacuzzi!!

Night shows in resort. Hot belly dancers, hip hop & break dances, super zai!

When we arrived at Cancun, the sun was already setting, so we head down to Mercado Ben-ti-ou-chou(spanish) which is market 28!! basically it's a flea mkt tat sells souvenirs... As expected, they all dying to chop american carrot heads (cai tous), starting price is always sky high. Being the ultimate bargain expert, i got my stuffs for half the price of wat they quote. Bwhahah!

Went on to party centre, the place where all the clubs are in..the bus ride oni costs US$0.65 whereas taxi price is $25. Really out to chop tourists. lol. But, the bus is FULL of mexicans.... at 1 point of time, i tot i was in Little India... You know wat i mean?? Lol.. Party till 3am, back to resort for slp..

Day 2 was spent on the beach!! woke up early to explore. Was so looking forward to the nice beach, ended up with this.....

Doesnt seemed much different from sentosa... lan diao..rocky seabed, no waves, not crystal blue water... haiz.. sianz..

Even the resort swimming pool looks much more tempting den the beach....

Which is why alot of pple chose to hang out here..

But being the Yang Guang Nan Hai, I HAVE to be on the beach~. the Sun, the Sand, & the Sea~
Oh.. forgot to mention this is the oni resort that allows topless Sunbathing..INCLUDING women. Lol.

Of cos... suntanning is a Must!! working in US makes me so white.. was never out in the sun, everywhere we go, we drive, or stay indoor.. totally no sun..here's a good chance to get tan!!

This is 1 of the programs organised by the resorts, Tequila bodyshots! Basically, they invite couples (wasted!) up, pour hersheys choc & tequila on the ladies & the guy gotta lick & drink it all up.. Woooooo...They even placed it in 'strategic' places...

They even haf beach volleyball matches.. Woohoo. How can i miss that??

Then i went on to try JetSki!!!! Wootz!!!! US$40 for 30mins.. I know it's expensive.. but since im here liao.. might as well do it.. cant ask me to fly to thailand to do rite.. Dany leech on my ride!! He zhuan! It's amazing man!!!! Shiok!! going at Full speed, ski jumping Up & Down from the waves, making sharp turns at full speed. Wootz!!! It ain easy man... got throw off twice. hahaha! SUper shagz!!! When i'm done, my arms, body & legs are aching all over!! No Joke! not for the faint hearted. lol.

Mr Dany was too tired to do anything later.. Just slpt on the beach.. I wasnt going to spend my day sleeping & i'm so sure Cancun has better beaches den this. So i went on to explore the other part of the island alone.. & guess wat, after taking a bus, sneaking into other resorts located at the other part of island, i saw this.....

Fricking Amazing!!!!Crystal blue waters, Nice sandy beach & HUGE waves!I cant believe my eyes!! Was stunned there for 5 mins at least! I thought this image oni happens in dream.. cant believe i'm actually standing in front of it..It's like a dream come true.. Hawaii~!!!!!

It's juz too beautiful.. The photos can oni capture so much details... U have to see it wth your own eyes.. at least 10times better den the photos!!

Even the waves are taller den a normal person. I spent more den 30mins 'playing' with the waves! it'll sweep u far far away man... shiok!!

This part of the island is mainly the more luxurious resorts like Hyatt, Marriott, Park Royal etc..I love Park Royal, they have king size beds with pillows & bolsters for couples.. There's also silky curtains by the side where u can draw, for privacy.. Couples jus lie there, cuddle tgt, read a book, exchange sweet talks, relax facing the beautiful sea... THIS IS LIFE!!! THIS IS PARADISE!!! Definitely a good place for Honeymoon~. I'll be back!!!

I just love the idea of lying there, relaxing, letting the waves & breeze wash away your worries...

I can't believe it's over... How i wished i have more time to spend on that wonderful beach...I will be back!!! Or mayb not... it just inspires me to visit other nice beaches, Krabi, Ko Samui, Bora Bora & of cos, my dream destination Hawaii~!! Imagine surfing the huge waves in hawaii... Wooooooooo..... I'm like the closest i can possibly get to hawaii right now... But the plane tix alone is almost US$1000... If any1 wanna sponsor me half, i would fly there immediately!!

Btw, i missed out the Thanksgiving Dinner part.. It was CRAZY... started eating at 3pm, ended at 8pm!!!! Can u imagine!!! 5 hrs of eating!!! the dinner table was sooooo long,.... Big big feast.. They keep stuffin me with food. Turkey, salad, & alot of stuffs which i don noe.. lol. not nice to reject, so juz keep eating... felt so sick...after i tot its over... they said.. ok.. lets change the plates, time for dessert!!! FAINT!!! But it's really an experience.. Thanksgiving is abt siting down, eating TONS (i realli mean TONS) of food, getting together with family, catchin up, & watchin football. lol. Even our feast during CNY reunion dinner is nothing compared to thanksgiving dinner... it's CRAZY!!! Now i noe why so mani americans are XXXXL. lol.

Wootz!! back from 5 days New York trip! It's certainly fun & definitely freezing!!!! -1degree celsius in 1 of the days.. Brrrggghhh..... Been walking so much!!!We walk everywhere in New York city, from 1 avenue to another, from 1 street to another. Though the subway was super developed, we nv use it to commute in the city unless we heading back home.

Some of the places covered are:
1. Central Park
2. Rockefeller centre + skating rink
3. 3hr round NYC cruise + Statue of Liberty (din go up though)
4. Empire state building 86th storey observation deck
5. Time Square!!
6. The Famous Fifth Avenue with designer boutiques

11. Broadway
12. New York Public Library

And many more... Photos shall be up tml.. shagged..Not because of the intense walking.. but...
because my flight back was delayed by frickin 5hrs!!!!!!! & i actualli reached airport 2 hrs before my flight, which made me waited for 7 hrs in airport!! faint.. reached back at 345AM, & get to work at 8am.. yawnz...

San Antonio~

Wootz!! Back from San Antonio Roadtrip~. It's fun but could have been better if we did our homework!

Our Initial plans was to hit the roads on Friday night, but decided to change to Sat morning 530am so that we can save on the hotel cost. Hence, we went to a piano bar name "howl on the moon" to chill out. It's FANTASTIC! Love it! i thought it's some romantic bar where they play nice soothing music.. I was so wrg.. it's a pub with band, but the main instrument is Piano~. Imagine playing fast rock songs with piano, their fingers are fantastically fast. & its not only 1 band member that can play piano, all of the them, & they rotate ard. this segment u play piano, i play guitar, he sing, nxt, we all rotate.. POWERZ! simply love it! Y don singapore have such a place!?!?!?

Look at the back,any1 can pay more than $13 would be able to write on the 'phrase of the nite' section, like Dave is super Yandao etc. Lol. & the bet goes higher & higher, next phrase would be $14.

Also, there's a segment where all the crews & waiters would stand on stage & dance together, teaching the crowd to do some mass dance. It's like half time break. So fun.

Now for San Antonio......

Hitting the roads at 530am!Fun, & slpy. lol. 2.5hr's drive to San antonio... boring...

It's not like europe where theres nice scenery. In US, its all roads, construction etc.. nothin nice.. but we did see some animals like goats, horses in some farmland.. too far away to take gd pics though.

Yeah, finally reached @ 830am!! Wootz! Jan, Dany, David, Me (Bassam not in pic). It's an all Guy's Roadtrip!!! Wootz!! Btw, Bassam is Dany's high school frd from lebanon,now studyin master's in New Jersey. Joined us for a wkend.

Downtown San Antonio

The Churches are so nice, & every1 of them look the same. We only remembered our car was parked at this church, end up every other church looks similar. Had a hard time finding our car. lol.

The highlight of San Antonio would be the Riverwalk. Right in downtown, theres a river flowing around it, & along the sidewalk would be some restaurants & shops. Sooo nice~.. Soo Lomantic

The sidewalks are empty cos no1 walks there at 9am in the morning. lol. Hard to find a restaurant tat serves breakfast. There's 1 that sell omlettes for $12.95. wtf, thats an like eating GOLDEN eggs, 13usd for eggs.. no thanks. ended up with Mac Breakfast.lol.

It's as a little like Venice, but the main thing is, in Venice, pple ROW boats, slowly down the stream. In riverwalk, they use MOTORboats......Americans.. Nothin surprising.. lol.

Next destination, the Alamos~. It's the historic site where in the 1816s(forgot liao), the texans fought bravely against the mexicans, 200brave texans(americans are always heros,lol) vs few thousands of mexicans. They manage to hold the mexicans for a few days or week, but in the end, not a single 1 survived the battle.

We went to some souvenir shops to look ard, end up taking their stuffs, took pics & ended up buying nothing. haha. Evil~

Went to a very interesting restaurant for lunch, it's called Dick's. Yes.. it really meant to be DICK. every1 working there are 'Dicks'. The 1st thing they say to u is, " is this your 1st time here? If yes, don take things personal." Then they start to be dicks(jerks), they treat u like dicks. They came over to take ur orders, if u're slow, they'll say 'i don haf time for u dickies, wen u've decided den let me know, den he walked off" it happened for a few times until david decided enff is enff, we left the table, walked inside the bar to get another waiter. Meanwhile he told the guy, 'we just don like u, it's not personal." lol.

Another lady served us, same thing, "hurry up u dickies, don be a pussy" is wat she said. lol. They gave no plates, wen we asked for some, she came over, 'don be a whiny pussy,' den she drew a plate using a marker, on a piece of paper. Apparently the paper is our 'plate' Lol. Wen we asked for bill, she printed a receipt, wrote "pay up & fu*k off", crushed it & threw it at us. Hahah. there's a sign on the door " thank you for wasting money on us" lol.
So u pay to get treated like dicks, & u can scold or call them pussy, dicks etc all u like. lol. weird, but interesting.

We ended up walking ard downtown till 4pm, i realli mean walking AROUND.. keep going rd & rd, din noe where to go & wat else to do. no1 bother to do research. hahah. Felt bored, decided to drive down to Austin, abt 1-1.5hrs away.. Got a hotel to stay in, 5 guys all in 1 rm. It's not too bad, 2 queen double beds, 1 extra bed, just nice for 5 guys. Each oni 20bucks. Zhuan!

Even got nice pool, too bad din bring trunks to swim.

Took a short nap & headed down to Austin Downtown to PARTY!!! Their club scene is unbelievable..Crazy... alot of pretty gals, much more den houston..

Look at the streets, there crowded with party goers. It's supposed to be roads, but it's closed for partying at nite.. powerz..

Oh, saw these horse carriages along the road. So tempted to try, but im sure it's ex. Just like our trishaws in Bugis... chop tourists...

Party till 2am, head back to slp...not realli party, but just drinking..not much dancing involved.

They slpt till almost 12pm, i woke at 9am, explore ard hotel..Headed to San Marcus for shopping!! it's outrageously HUGE. I think about 4-5 national stadiums.. crazy..Its not a mall, but all invidual shops/outlets.

Had alot of brands like CK, Boss, Armani Exchange, Guess, Coach, watever u wan they have.. Alot fo them are factory outlets at cheaper prices, but quality is not there.. Was a little disapointed at Armani Exchange..was so lookin fwd to it.. Calvin klein shirts are not bad, 30usd can get liao, but i din buy. Even CK jeans were at 30usd, but i din buy too, don need jeans. & its heavy.. End up buying a few tshirts from AX & Banana republic.. tats all. Lol. But the rest of them realli spend like crazi.. kenneth cole shirts, CK jeans, aldo shoes, powerz..

time to head home after a longgggg wkend... 3hrs drive back to Houston.. shagz man.. But it was fun~! a gd roadtrip experience, but im sure could have been better!!

Now it's time to plan for NEw York.. Muz not go unplanned liao... Was so eager to watch broadway shows in NY until i saw news today, " broadway goes on strike".. wtf.. shows for this whole wk are cancelled.. sian diao.. Ultimate suay jiao... Haiz.. Nevertheless, i hope it'll be a good thanksgiving trip!! wootz!!

Busy week

Woo... Finally can relax a bit.. Work has been busy this week, helping out in the recruitment of the Ne*t Gen VIII. Flew 76 candidates from all over the states into Houston for 2 days of recruitment events. The thing abt USA is the pple realli come from all over the world. Met pple who are italian, portugese, mongolian, russian, chinese, malaysian, mexican, indian etc.. with all possible combinations like mongolian czech etc. powerz. (Btw, this is a boring post abt work, if u not interested in HR or in NOV, don bother to read on)

On Tues, the candidates start arriving in houston, gotta send our employes to pick them up from airport & send them to Marriott hotel. Wonderful hotel, 2 queen beds for each person, si bei shiok. I've enjoyed my stay there in july. =). had a cocktail reception where candidates meet employees, mingle, network ask qns.. Again, i don noe how mani million times i said "hi, how are u doing?' "i'm dave, a NG VII from Singapore....bla bla bla" i could haf used a tape recorder to play it.. But it's interesting to meet so mani pple from diverse backgrds.. after reception, each employee will take a grp of candidates out to dinner at any restuarant. Me, together with 2 next Gens brought a candidate to an italian restuarant. He's late, got lost while drivng down to houston, so he got honour to dine wif 3 of us. lol.

My HR team!! Left is Staffing Mgr,pregnant now, due in dec. Middle is a very nice lady helping out in HR, kinda jack fo all trades. Right is the NG program Mgr, shes in charge of this whole recruitment. All very fun nice & helpful pple.

Anyway, the candidates supposed to take this dinner opportunity to ask NOV employees qns, of cos also to let us know them better, determine their personality etc. From this event can start to know the candidates, like how some of them seemed so fake, how some are realli interested in talking to u etc. The day ended at 930pm.. imagine, 730am till 930am.. 14 hrs of work.. faint.

Wednesday is the interview day, each employees have 2 interviews with diff mgrs. I was helping out in scheduling & dispatching of candidates, 76 candidates = 156 interviews, 40 interviewers allocated in different parts of building... wooooo. again have to entertain them in the holding room, chat with them, got to know their experiences etc. Alot of them got professional work experiences at age of 16, like accounting assistant, intern etc.. whereas back in SG, at 16, most likely you are working in macdonalds, KFC, if not u'll be playing games at hm..so different..

Afternoon went to visit a facility. super huge, tons of big equipments.. totally thrash the facility in SG. lol. evening was the major dinner at a nice mexican restaurant.. 76 candidates, 30-40 employees... huge event..Again have to entertain candidates.. sometimes realli so sick of it. lol. so shag, yet still have to entertain them, chat with them.. aiyo..After these series of events can really separate the good & the bad candidates.. They're some super wayang.. keep asking qns like wats the biggest challenge u faced(typical politically smart qn to ask), where u see urself in 5 yrs(wtf, non of ur biz rite?), etc etc.. cant stand this kind of pple.. there're super fake pple oso, where u don see them talking to candidates, just keep finding employees to talk... there's 1 who even asked me, "so who do u think i shld talk to to increase my chance" wtf..immediate condemn. Day ended at 930pm again... another long day.. But overall was interesting to see how the whole recruitment process goes, how diff personalities of candidates come tgt etc.. BTW, i missed my Houston Rockets VS LA Lakers game because of this dinner! the rest of the guys kept telling me how gd the game it, how Kobe nailed Yao MIng.. wah laoz..faint.. sian diao.. i have to go watch an NBA before i come back man!! argh!

Tomorrow will have a meetin where all interviews & mgrs sit down, evaluate candidates. Saw some of their interview forms/answers.. Quite interesting, hope tml can hear some funny comments.

& many many more... It's America dude...

Watched the movie Lions for Lamb today... You know wat? It sux... Bo liao movie..Know wats the best thing? We din pay to get in. Hahaha. No1 was there to sell tix, nor collect tix, we juz walked in. The 1st time we went(3 wks ago), my frd tried a tactic, "we're with michael", & the ursher let us in without seeing our tickets. Lol. they're paid $5/hr, they don care whether u haf tix or not.. lol.. It's america dude!

As the post title suggested, din do anything special this week as far as i can remember. Did some window shopping due to immense boredom. But it feels gd that when you're bored, you can just drive ard, go shopping, explore etc. Gas is pretty cheap here, 1 gallon(3.75L) is 2.95 USD, & i don pay for it. shiok.

Supposed to go Dallas this wkend, ended up cancelling the trip. But next weekend, definitely goin to San antonio & Austin!! Here's my travel plan!

16-18th Nov
Road trip to San Antonio on Fri nite, stay over at hotel/motel. Daytime explore San Antonio, nite time is Party time! Next day head over to Austin & going to the famous San Marcus(spelling unsure). Its the belt of famous & branded stuffs, supposed to be much cheaper den anywhere.. Suposedly....

22nd-26th Nov
New York!!!!Wootz!!! My colleague/frd Lauren is so kind to invite me & Susana over to her place (new York) for thanksgiving!!! Thanksgiving is a big thing in US, family sit down tgt to eat big big feast.. So nice of her to invite us! wootz! I took 1 day leave on Monday just to explore New York City while the 2 of them fly back to work. SHiok! Btw, she's a huge house by the side of the sea... Her Family has a boat/yacht too, too bad its under repair or sumthing, cannot go.. WASTED!
Wanted to go watch a broadway show! 80USD!!faint, if book thru internet additional 20usd. thats 150SGD!! faint. Mayb go try luck to buy on tat day, sometimes got cheap sales at 26usd.. Pray hard.. I wann watch phantom of the opera..

Cancun!!! Wootz! going with my room mate, nice blue sea, beautiful white sand & pretty babes! wootz. lol. Actually more interested in the sun, sand & sea rather then the babes. Imagine it can be compared to my dream vacation Hawaii! & i tink there got free scuba lesson in Pool. Wootz!!I wana Surf~!!!! wootz! Surfer~!! hahaa. *surf surf*

Los Angeles!!Meeting a frd(diana) there! She's there with family for holiday, so shiok. She's got a frd hu studies there & he's gonna bring her ard, which means I'm goin to be included(i don care, i have to join them LoL) 24th he's gonna drive us to bear mountain to SKI!!!!! Wootz!! Finally!! So desperate to do that, was checking out prices & air tics to Colorado to ski etc, den diana suddenly ask if i was interested in goin bear mountain. OF COURSE I AM! YOU ARE KIDDING ME! So happy! Christmas shall be spent in DISNEYLAND! wootz! so happy! Will also visit universal studio & Santa Monica beach in 1 of these days too.

Thats my travel plan for now. We 'supposedly' promised to go out of houston every weekend to other cities..So far dec wkends are still pretty free. Maybe i shall ask if we can visit my frd/colleague's ranch somewhere up north in Texas. Wootz, living in a ranch with diary farm animals.. woooo. Maybe can see milk ladies? lol.

SOOOOO looking forward to these. Meanwhile, work has been really slow & boring.. This week will be doing recruitment for Next Gen VIIIs, supposed to involved.. I hope i am, i will fight for it..Dinner on wed with the candidates + CEOs +directors etc... the sad thing is, i bought tickets to watch HOUSTON ROCKETS VS LA LAKERS!!! clash of the titans!!! Nia eh, gotta skip the game bcos of the dinner! Lan diao! Super Lan diao! every1 fighting to get tix, i got it, but cant go.. How nice!!! nia eh.. Every1 can go except me. nia eh.. Looks like haf to watch an NBA game alone nxt time. sobz.

yesterday finally went to a Club in downtown. Supposed to be the best club in Houston. Not bad.. but all clubs closes at 2am, but thats not stoping us. Went to a colleague's house to continue drinkiing & dancing, until my room mate sprain his ankle. bwhahah! so funny. I m so mean. lol. Imagine sum1 dancing ard jumpin, suddenly snap his foot. opps. lol. gotta help him back. lol.
Oh.. & i gotta say, SG culture is realli conservative compared to them, i felt so weird, ma jiam i am alien. But i stand by our culture, have to be open minded though.lol.

As mentioned earlier, my car got hit... Nia eh...suay jiao.. Came back from work ard 5pm, parked my car at my aparment. About 6pm, my friend came over to my apartment & asked me, "Hey dave, how did you crash you car?" i was like wtf, i din crash my car dude. "But there's a huge dent in ur front bumper" I was stunned, rushed out to check my car & saw THIS!

WTF!!! lan diao.. some F**kers hit my front bumper & ran off.. Checked with the apartment management office, theres no cctvs here & they din see anithing. So... LAN LAN... Contacted the rental car company, realised we din pay extra to get insurance, so we are LIABLE for the damages.. knn.. Had to make a police report for this.. Here's the best part... I called the police, they say i gotta go down to a station personally to make a report. Being the gd obedient citizen/visitor, i drove all the way down to a station, wait for 20mins. The officer came & gave me a form to fill & after completion, MAIL it back to the traffic department. WTF! I juz wanna make a police report & i cant make 1 on the spot, haf to fill up details of incident & MAIL it to them.. wtf...By time they recieve its more den 1 wk alreadi, how are they ever going to catch the culprit... haiz.. Told my mgr abt it,she' snot even sure if the company or I, will haf to pay for the damage.. Not my fault, i would not pay, since firm nv buy insurance, they shld take tis as a lesson & pay for the damge!

Anyway thats the unhappy/sad part.. On the sidenote, i went window shopping on Fri & watched the american gangsters with frds, 2hr40mins.. wtf.. longggg show.. but not too bad.. Sat was spent shopping too! this time i bought some stuffs, & my proud buy is the Kenneth Cole watch, oni at 40USD!!!supposed to be 100usd. zhuan ah. Sg sell at least 150sgd.. Shiok sia.. wanted to buy more ex stuffs, but decided to wait for us to go san marcus.. Woo!!Oh, did i mention i spent 1hr 15mins to get there when its supposed to be on 27min...keep on missin the exits in the highway & kept doin U-turns... paid so mani tolls until i lost count.. faint. & i did a very dangerous thing...after driving for 1 hr+, coupled with frustration of missing exits, i accidentally make an emergency exiting stun, make a turn at 70 miles/h, which is 105km/hr. Faint, i pressed brakes, the kids will fly!! lol. At nite went drinking with frds.. lazy to upload pics.. hahah very shag again..

Sunday we went to NASA space center to explore!!! wootz! another long way... Entrance is 18.90usd, but we got the memebersip card at 20bucks, so subsequent entrance within 1 year is free!!parking will be free too!! no longer haf to pay tolls. lol. (btw i fell aslp at tis pt,too shag)

Was given a 1.5hrs tour ard the NASA facility, its HUGE!!! ma jiam a town like tat.. unbelievable..Below is the communication towers

Was given some history of NASA & the astronauts. interesting.. Did you know that they are currenly building an International space station that involves 22 or 27 countries, each building part of it. NASA gonna send pple up to the moon to live for 6 months by 2010, if sucessful, they gonna use MOon as a station/stopover to go to Mars! Cool huh!

You see the rocket super duper big, but actualli, oni a small small compartment is left being on the moon/planet, the rest of it contain fuels, will eventually break off from the compartment. Btw, it oni holds 3 pple.. faint.
Took alot of photos but lazy to upload.. slpy, will definitely visit there again since entrance is free. Btw they haf free rides too. & movies, i fell aslp in the movies for most of the part.. hahah. too slow paced.. I will concur all the rides. lol.

Anyway, good news! my cancun trip is confirmed!! 30th Nov, 408USD, inclusive of flight, hotel & all meals covered. Shiok! cant wait for that man. 2nd good news, i'm going to New York for thanksgiving! another 370usd spent on flight. My frd is kind enff to lend us a roof in New york, save the hotel money.. Wootz! statue of liberty, manhatten, time square, shopping, here we come!!! So excited! 3rd gd news, this weekend we'll be driving down to San antonio to stay for 1 nite, den drive to Austin for another nite. abt 2-3hrs drive away. Wootz!!! cant wait for it man!!!Will be goin to San Marcus, a famous shopping belt that has almost every luxurious brands, at cheaper prices too.. Shiok! looking forward to all the trips man!! But den, im damn broke liao.. hahha. Haven plan my year end trip in Los Angeles, might even be goin to Las vegas.. hahah! wootz! I m so broke! but i don care, since im here alreadi, might as well spend the money to tour ard.. I won get another chance nxt time...might as well man.. wootz!
